Berry lipsticks for deep skin

Berry lipsticks are deep, saturated shades between red and purple, the colours of raspberry, cranberry and blackberry. They are darker than most pinks and cooler than most reds. A berry that leans towards red reads rich and bright, while one that leans towards purple reads deeper and moodier, closer to plum. For deep skin this page uses a reference lightness of L* 32. Contrast between lip colour and skin decides how strongly a shade stands out. Medium, medium-deep and deep shades are listed here; the lightest shades make a strong pale contrast against deep skin and appear on the fair, light and medium pages.
