Matte berry lipsticks

Berry lipsticks are deep, saturated shades between red and purple, the colours of raspberry, cranberry and blackberry. They are darker than most pinks and cooler than most reds. A berry that leans towards red reads rich and bright, while one that leans towards purple reads deeper and moodier, closer to plum. A matte finish shows full, flat colour with no shine, so a matte shade reads on the lips very close to its hex value. With no gloss to catch the light, matte formulas make the colour itself the whole effect, and they tend to emphasise the outline of the lips.
