Gloss mauve lipsticks

Mauve lipsticks are muted shades between pink and purple, softened with grey or brown. Their low chroma makes them read quieter than a pink or a plum. A mauve with more red reads rosy, one with more violet reads cooler and dustier, and lighter mauves sit close to a natural lip colour. A gloss finish is shiny and wet-looking, and colour payoff ranges from sheer to intense depending on the formula. A sheer gloss can read lighter and more translucent on the lips than its hex value, while a pigmented gloss stays close to it and adds strong shine.
