Warm undertone
Warm undertone is a golden, peach or yellow cast in skin, or a lean toward orange in a lipstick shade such as a warm red or a coral.
Skin with a warm undertone tends to show golden or peachy tones at the surface. An informal check is the colour of the veins on the inner wrist: veins that look green or olive are often taken as a sign of a warm undertone, although lighting changes the result and the check is only a rough guide.
For lipsticks, this encyclopedia calls a shade warm-toned when its hue angle falls on the orange side of true red. That range covers warm reds and oranges, along with the warmer corals, nudes and browns.
Under the colour-theory guideline used across the site, warm-toned shades are the natural match for warm and neutral skin, and many also sit well with olive skin. The warm-undertone hub lists every shade the site classes as warm-toned. The guideline describes which pairings tend to look harmonious; it does not limit what anyone can wear.
